About two years ago, a co-worker of mine named Teddy Canon called me in his office to show me a new business venture he was working on. He was motivated, passionate, and excited about his project and he showed me where some of it was stemming from: a Gary Vee video.
I had never heard of Gary Vee, but I checked out his podcast and decided to give it a listen, and from that day I was hooked. This guy spouts off such important ideals, backs them up with his own life and upbringing, and pushes listeners to take the next step to get their lives better. He's basically a motivational speaker, but like none you've ever heard before. There's no dancing around negativity or sugarcoating with Gary--you just have to put in the work.
I had heard this many times before, but for some reason, the way he went about saying it really stuck with me episode after episode, example after example, with tons of different callers and guests. Now, when I get in my car for an hour commute, I feel guilty if I DON'T listen to Gary Vee because I know I'll get much more value out of that hour than just another wrestling or trivia podcast.
Gary's got a brand new book out called CRUSHING IT, a follow up to his 2009 book CRUSH IT where he gave readers a strategy to blow up their business with documenting and branding yourself. With the new book, he follows up with people who read the first book, used it, and literally turned their lives around. Mine came in the mail today, and I couldn't be more excited to read it one day after starting my very first actual first business, With Budds Productions, LLC.
Thanks for the motivation Gary! And to anyone reading this, go start YOUR thing, and never finish it.
